Survived a 7.9 Earthquake! =P

Singapore's Meteorological Services said the earthquake measured 8.5 on the Richter Scale. The preliminary reading was 7.9. The earthquake struck out at sea at 7.10pm. Its epicentre was 120 kilometres south-west of the Sumatran town of Bengkulu, at a depth of 15 kilometres. This is some 670 kilometres from Singapore.

SGX was not spared. It was about 7.15pm. I started feeling a bit dizzy and then the ceiling started making cracking noise from the ceiling covers. My colleague who was behind me seated across the room thought it was stress that caused the dizziness. The feeling lasted for about 30secs. And followed by several series of waves and all lasted about 5mins.

This was the worse compared to the last one felt last year.

Lucky for us in Singapore, it was just a scare and nothing serious.
